New Orleans Insectarium.

My very favorite poem by Nikolay Gumilyov came across my mind in NO Insectarium. I did not find any traslation in English (I'm sorry, my English readers) - it is about sorrowing heart transformed into a porcelain bell in China where a girl in embroidered silks listens to it's soft sound.

Do you love New Orleans as I do?

Three Rivers Art Festival.

This weekend, November, 14-15,  I'll be participating in Three Rivers Art Festival , in Covington, Louisiana. ( I love Louisiana!)
This event is a 2 day event, free to the public, that stretches white tents down Columbia Street in historic downtown Covington. It is an event for people of all ages as there are things to do and look at for all age groups and all economic levels. Over 170 artists from over 25 states bring their fabulous work to Covington for this event.
Last weekend I did Great Gulfcoast Art Festival in Pensacola - it was perfect weather and very nice show. Thank you to all my customers!

This Week Inspirations.

The poem by Emily Dickinson:

Hope

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

...and redbreasted Nuthatch...

Milkweed...

Apples...

...and beautiful autumn colors around my home. Here is my old small apple tree (the model for my etching) on the right.

I feel like I can hear Una Furtiva Lagrima (from Donizetti's "L'Elisir D'Amore") when I look around. So much beauty.

New Etchings.

Hieroglyphics of Nature: milkweed leaves, milkweed seedpod, woodpecker feather, milkweed seeds and another small stuff that I always collect everywhere.
Also I finished Apple Tree plate. Here it is in opposite order ( I forgot about weird rule of apploading images here: the first will be the last one) :

Apple Tree plate + 2 plates with apple branch and apple.
