The Sun Standing Still.

"Winter", etching. "Winter" - II, etching.

It is winter solstice today. The winter solstice marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year. The origin of the word solstice, which comes from Latin solstitium, from sol, “sun” and -stitium, “a stoppage” - it means “the Sun standing still.” Following the winter solstice, days begin to grow longer and nights shorter:

New Works.

Here are a couple of new etchings. Actually, it is the same plate printed in different colors. The name is "Flower Talk". We have such a saying in my country. Flower talk means tender and emotional conversation. I made sketches 4-5 years ago and lived with this idea for a long time. So, I am glad to make the plate finally. It is etching, aquatint, chine colle and gold.

Shadows.

Beautiful shadows on the wall of my booth in Covington.
