Metamorphosis Insectorum Surinamensium by Maria Sibylla Merian .

Amazing woman, amazing artist and great inspiration - Maria Sybilla Merian. In age of 52 she travelled to Surinam, Guiana in 1701 (!) to study nature and to collect material for her book Metamorphosis Insectorum Surinamensium.

Winter Park.




There are many interesting plants around Winter Park Art Festival. The first pink one is Tabebuia. Fellow artist, Lynn Fisher, gave me the name. I don't know names for two others.
